I travel a lot, but it had been too long since I took a beach vacation. But when opportunity knocked, I opened the door! With cheap nonstop flights from Frontier Airlines out of Denver to Cabo, it was my chance. My first vacation in two years was a wonderful traditional beach vacation. I took advantage of all the great things Cabo has to offer, and, as usual, I wanted to share tips with the world. So, here's my destination guide to Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, Mexico! After growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and living in Cleveland, Ohio for 7 years, back in the early 2000’s, I visited Atlanta when I was searching for my next home. Atlanta made the short list because it was a warm-weather city and a cosmopolitan hub with opportunities for techies like me. I ended up choosing Austin instead, and I’ve been living there for about ten years, but these past two Octobers, the Atlanta Visitors Bureau invited me to their annual SITSum conference, so that I could deeply explore the city and post about it. These experiences made me realize that Atlanta is a confluence of all the things I love about all the cities I’ve lived.
I am really excited to be a speaker and workshop presenter at SITSum Atlanta next week! No matter how many couches or beds upon which one has slept worldwide, a night at the Atlanta Midtown W in Atlanta is an object of magnificent gratitude. My workshop will blur the lines between tourist and local by linking them together and creating a cultural experience for all parties involved. It also covers how technology and social networks make that happen on both ends of the experience. Check me out the schedule. I'm sure I'll write more about this next week after I return from the experience! I have an online course for travel and all, but it's really great to get interviewed by the Total Education Network to spread the word about travel. We talked a lot about how using multiple one-way flights is a great way to save money, as well as how traveling the world doesn't have to be something only for singles that want to hook up.
